Basic of Project Management

Project Management Terms Translation :

1. Management - Is how to plan, lead, organizing and control [PLOC] to the project.
2. Project - Is a task, work or etc
3. Project Management - The application of knowledge , tools and technique to the project activities

Project Management

• Project Management consist of 3 main parts. There are knowledge, tools and technique.
• Knowledge use in the Project Management is the combination of 9 knowledge area and that are time management, cost management, quality management, scope management, communication management, human resources management, procument management, risk management and integration management.
• Tool is the instrument that we used for project management
• Technique is the way that we us producing some result

Project Management Diagram

• The stakeholder [green] is the shareholder of the project. There are the peoples who interest to the project. It maybe have project manager, project owner, project team and customers.
  
• 9 knowledge area [ red ] is the combination and integration of 9 element of knowledge in Project management.
  
• Tools and technique [blue] is the way to producing solution or result
• Result of these combination stakeholders, 9 element of knowledge and tools and techniques resulting the successful project [ purple].

Project Management Constrain:

There are 3 constrain in Project Management. There are ;

1. Scope - The limitation of project
2. Time - Project should be finish up by the due date
   
3. Cost - It should be reasonable

The valuation of these 3 constrains is quality of project. If one of these constrain have amendment, it will effect the quality of the project. Thus, if amendment have been made to the one of the constrain, the other constrains also need to be amend.



Project Vs Operation

Project characteristics :

1. Unique
2. Not permanent
3. Have project owner
4. Need resources
5. Have start and end period

Operation Characteristics :

1. Repeated
   
2. Continuous operation
3. Everyone can do
4. No need of " Progressive Elaboration"
5. No resources needed
6. Did not have start and end period
